At FIRST, we seek to provide opportunities where adults can connect while studying God’s word and experiencing fellowship with one another. We believe that we grow as healthy Christians when we intentionally pursue to know Christ and make Christ known. We meet in small groups in the company of believers that love the Word of God and enjoy serving, laughing, playing and encouraging one another.
Adult Life Groups
Various small groups meet during the week, both in home and on our campus. Life Groups meet in homes with people of similar age and lifestyle to have fellowship, fun, and to study God’s plan for life together. Groups are available for couples, men, women, and singles. Click here to see more information about our Life Groups.
Sunday Bible Studies Groups
Sunday Bible Study groups meet on campus and offer guided study of the Bible and teaching on relevant, practical issues. Depending on the class, these groups are a great way to discuss specific life circumstances or to simply broaden your knowledge of the Bible. Men’s & Women’s Ministries
A variety of specialized events and Bible studies are offered throughout the year for both men and women. These ministries are designed to equip and encourage adults in areas that are especially applicable to husbands, wives, parents, or single adults. Visit the Men’s or Women’s ministry pages for information on specific opportunities.
In addition to enjoying Sunday Bible Study groups and Worship, our senior adults also serve as active volunteers in many of our ongoing church ministries. Plus they are often engaged in fun, relational activities ranging from monthly dinners to day trips all around the KC metro area.
Keenager’s Monthly Banquet
Keenagers Banquet is designed to provide a time of fun and fellowship for all senior adults in our church and community. The monthly banquet is a casual sit-down dinner with special entertainment, held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 5:00 pm in the church Fellowship Hall. The cost is $3 per person or $1 for each person who brings a dessert. Please call the church office for reservations by Tuesday before each banquet.
We provide ministry to senior adults who can no longer attend church because of physical limitations. Our team provides literature, makes phone calls, prays, ministers to nursing home employees, sends cards and letters, conducts worship services, teaches Bible studies and more. To volunteer in this ministry, please contact the church office.
FIRST is committed to ministering to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the mentally handicapped and their families. Through our Special Needs ministry, we provide activities, events, Bible studies, worship experiences, special trips, parental support groups, and more.
We also strive to help these families connect with other community and government programs that will be of further assistance to them. Our goal is to provide loving, Christian support in a manner which will positively affect the health and welfare of the mentally handicapped.
For more information about our Special Needs schedule and events, please contact the church office.
