Dear FIRST Family,

WOW…!!  We did it!!  Pretty sure we made it through the winter weather…!!  Hey, it was not always easy.  Yet, we are in the midst of great days again…!!

• Worship attendance is back up
• Easter is close and tremendous privileges to share Jesus are right now…!!
• Opportunities for children and student ministries are back at full capacity
• Our Valley Campus is meeting again at Prairie Branch
• We have not had to shovel snow in almost two weeks…!!

Thank you for leaning in.  My hope is that you are seeking God will all of your“heart, soul and mind” (Matthew 22:37) in these days of opportunity.

Allow me just a moment to introduce what we are calling REACH.  This short-term initiative will help us “catch up” what we have missed financially through the winter months of lower attendance and giving due to snow, ice, travel, cancellations, etc.

In praying through this needed initiative at FIRST, God impressed on my heart and mind the verse found in Philippians 3:14, “I press on to REACH the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” (New Living Translation)

Certainly, I like the language and challenge of that verse.  God has called us and we have opportunity for His purposes if we will simply REACH.  REACH will be a three month (May, June and July) emphasis to help us “catch up” from a tough winter with our tithes and offerings.  Make it a priority in your home, Life Group or Bible study in the next few weeks to pray, process and challenge all to “press on to REACH” well.  (I dare you to have a family meeting right now to pray over everyone present to that very end.  Hey, the spontaneity could be fun…!!)

Throughout the remainder of March and through the month of April, you will hear more from your Life Group leadership and Bible study leaders, as well as our staff concerning opportunities to REACH effectively.  We will culminate this good preparation with a REACH Commitment Day on May 5th.

So…pray and ask the Father if there is a need to “catch up” for His purposes.  We have great opportunities and needs that are immediate and long term.  Yet, nothing happens without His leading and our church operating in a financial responsible manner.

I love you…!!
