LIFE GROUP STUDY

March 8th-14th

Settle In:

Take a few moments to assess how your friends are doing.  Spend a few moments praying for:  (some of these prayer prompts will be repeating each week.  Most prayer directions require that we “pray and do not give up in doing so. Luke 18:1)

  • Family scenarios in the group
  • Spiritual awakening in the church
  • Who you are praying for and looking for opportunities to share Jesus in your life. (Each person in the group needs at least one person they are loving well and praying for salvation. If they don’t have a person, ask them to pray for that person.)

Celebrate in prayer:

  • Life Change for many at FIRST
  • Spiritual maturity in your Life Group
  • Growing dependence on Scripture for life

Scripture from Sunday:

As you hear vision concerning where God is taking FIRST, ask God…

  • How can I move from just attending a church to being the church…??
  • How can God use the gifts and passions He has placed in my heart to help accomplish the vision He has for our church…??
  • How can I get in the game at a greater level for God’s purposes…??

Jesus said in Matthew 16:18, “I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”

What does this verse represent for you…??

How does this verse impact our daily patterns…??

How does this verse give confidence in daily life…??

Should the church live on “offense” or “defense” each day…??  What is the difference…??

Give discussion to the following.  Helen Keller was once asked, “What would be worse than being born blind?” She quickly replied, “To have sight and no vision.“

Discuss the vision and purpose of Family Ministry.  Reflect on highlights from Anna’s reminders and challenge.  Do the same with Pastor Matt’s direction regarding IMPACT…=

Where do you see the needs in Jackson County for these arenas of life…??  What happens when FIRST takes necessary steps to join God where He is at work in these life happenings…??  What happens when we do not respond…??

Reflect again on Matthew 16…How is God building His church through FIRST…??

Allow a few moments before closing with a time in prayer…(again, a healthy Life Group will repeatedly give good focus to the basics in Scripture and life)

  • Where are your group members reading in Scripture this week…??
  • What is God teaching them as a result…??

Take a moment…

  • Celebrate God’s activity in the life of FIRST.
  • Celebrate the baptism video and life change testimonies. What stood out for you and your group members…??
  • Allow group members to reflect on their own highlights since arriving at I-70.
  • Pray for EASTER and the possibilities of salvation and discipleship for many.
