LIFE GROUP STUDY
January 18th-24th
Ice Breaker Question:
Scripture Focus (Read Together)
Read 2 Corinthians 8:1–9 aloud together.
How does this speak towards Grace or Generosity?Point 1: Life Change Begins with Receiving Grace (vv. 1–2)
Paul highlights that the Macedonians’ generosity flowed out of first receiving God’s grace.
Discussion Questions:
- Where have you experienced God’s grace most clearly in your life recently?
- How has reflecting on (or neglecting) God’s grace shaped the way you approach generosity with your time, resources, or relationships?
- What might change if giving became a response to grace rather than an obligation or budget line?
Grace doesn’t pressure us to give—it moves us to give.Point 2: Life Change Redirects What We Value (vv. 3–6)
Despite their poverty, the Macedonians gave willingly and sacrificially.
Discussion Questions:
- What does your current pattern of giving (money, time, energy, attention) reveal about what you value most right now?
- Where might God be inviting you to loosen your grip so grace can redirect your priorities?
- Is there something you tend to protect that grace may be asking you to trust God with?
Grace doesn’t just change what we do—it changes what we value.Point 3: Life Change Mirrors the Heart of Christ (vv. 7–9)
Jesus became poor so that we might become rich.
Discussion Questions:
- If our giving truly mirrored the heart of Christ, what would look different in our lives this week?
- Beyond finances, what might change in our humility, sacrifice, or love toward others?
- Who might experience God’s grace through you if you gave the way Jesus gave?
Christian generosity isn’t about equal amounts—it’s about a Christ-like heart.
Application (Personal & Practical)
Invite the group to quietly reflect, then share if comfortable:
- One area where I need to receive God’s grace more deeply
- One area where God may be inviting me to give more freely
- One simple step of generosity I can take this week
