Scripture:
Hebrews 12:1-3-
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Observation:
• Is there anything that hinders or entangles you from fixing your eyes on Jesus?
• What does running with perseverance look like in your relationship with God?
Apply:
How can you apply this to your life today?
Prayer:
Dear God,
Thank you for the sacrifice You made for me. Thank you for enduring shame and pain. Lord, help me keep my eyes fixed on You! Help me not to get caught up in the things of this world that can distract and entangle me. Help me to run with perseverance, because that is what You did for me!
Pray for our time of worship and discipleship tomorrow. Pray that people will hear from God in a fresh way.
